We are looking for a caretaker to join our welcoming and friendly schools at Barcombe and/or Plumpton. The school buildings are well laid out. The role of a caretaker is fundamental to our schools and they are an important member of our team.
The work would be carried out in the morning or the afternoon. The contract is for 52 weeks a year less paid holiday. The responsibilities would include:
- Maintaining clean, safe and secure school premises, which includes buildings and grounds.
- Carrying out handy-person activities, routine maintenance and refurbishment and minor repairs.
- Maintain the general school premises, furniture and fittings and reporting any issues.
- Maintain the security of the school premises as the main key holder.
- Lock and unlock the premises as required.
- Carry out regular checks of premises equipment.
- Carry out and record health and safety checks.
We would love to welcome you to our school(s). All training and guidance will be provided for the successful candidate, including from another caretaker so previous experience is not essential. No special skills are required.
This is a role with an East Sussex permanent contract which includes holiday pay and a pension. Our current caretaker works at both schools but we would consider two different people. The role at Barcombe School is for 17.50 hours a week and at Plumpton it is 15 hours a week.
